Running Back senior Mahti Gwilly received the award for Macomb County Player of the Year at the all-county football banquet on Dec. 8. Gwilly is the first one to receive this award since 1971, 54 years ago. If interested in learning more about Gwilly's achievement and statistics, visit the sports section on uhsarrow.org

Photo of the Day #72!

The Arrow crew delivered its fastest print edition yet, to both deadline and in delivery through the motivation of "Reindeer Games." In these games, the staff divided into groups and raced each other through out Utica High School to distribute the print and run back room 205 before anyone else. Congratulations to our first place winners Copy Editor junior Alijah Downey and Reporter senior Lexi Scholten, and our second place winners Business Editor sophomore Katelyn Palarchio and Assistant Photo Editor-in-Training Riley Banks!

Utica High School’s Sophomore Senior Program partnered with Macomb County and the Clinton Township Meijer to wrap 63 presents for kids and families to take off the Macomb County Children’s Giving Tree, while also donating $3,500 to spend on presents for the less fortunate on Dec. 9.

On Dec. 4, Utica High School hosted the Utica Community Schools annual Board of Education Breakfast. UCS Superintendent, Robert Monroe, reminded all the attendees; students and Board Members, of the available resources around them, that the breakfast was a time to create a change for the better of all schools in the district.

On Dec. 4, several Utica students and staff visited the Humane Society of Macomb to drop off the check of $3,030 from the money raised during Charity Week. As a reward, they were able to watch and play with the dogs up for adoption.
