Loading up the ole medicine bag for some afternoon air-shifts coming up!

If you remember this guy, then you remember cranking tunes in the afternoon, rockin' with the Doc, Jerry Kraus and he's going to be back on The DRIVE this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons from 3p-8p, filling in for Genesee Joe. You know he'll have some local memories, rock history notes, those cool deep cuts from his medicine bag and the return of The Friday Time Warp. The Doc will be rockin' the docks, ruling the pools and shakin' the lakes, for sure.

I just heard the mighty Matt McMullen on 92.7FM, The DRIVE remind everyone that Ozzy was rocking the Utica Aud on this date back in 1981. Ah yes, I remember it well. (A mere 44 years ago.) Were you there? I had the pleasure of interviewing him before the concert and he was a funny guy and quite friendly with our staff. RIP Ozzy.

Remember her? Sure you do- and she turns 90 this year; Dolores Erickson was 30 when the album cover photo was taken in 1965 for Herb Alpert.(fun fact- they used shaving cream, not whipped cream for the photo shoot, it held up better.)

Sad news about the passing of Ozzy. He left us with so many great tunes and memories. He just rocked the world with his recent Sabbath reunion concert extravaganza and gave his fans that special gift. A Rock Legend has left us, but his music will remain with us forever. I had the pleasure of interviewing Ozzy before a Utica Aud concert back in August of 1981, part of his Blizzard of Oz tour. I remember Ozzy as a funny guy, a real larger than life character, yet down to Earth and friendly to all of us at our radio station. He was accompanied by his Manager's daughter, Sharon, who told me with a wink that she was on the tour to help keep an eye on Ozzy, lol. Later on, they got married and the world knew her better as Ozzy's wife Sharon! - Here's a photo from that radio station visit- L-R: me, Ozzy and Dale Edwards (Buell), a fellow DJ. RIP Ozzy.
