Our time in Africa has come to a close, and just like any magnificent sunset, it’s spectacular and brilliant and life changing and unique every time, but it also leaves exciting hope for the future when the sun sets, leaving you excited for the next one. There was never any doubt that my 11th summit of Kilimanjaro 🌋 would be celebrated with all 11 of our team members AND 11 more of our support team of local Tanzanian family members, porters and guides on the summit as well! Huge congrats to our amazing adventurers that reached the summit: Patrick, Thomas, Allie, Audrey, Mary, Cynta, Vishal, Preston, Bradley, Hunter, and David. You were all amazing. And of course massive shout out to my team Dr. Jon’s Adventures: Freddy Juju, Immanuel, Barack, Mary, Reuben, Erick, Raymond, Katunze, Jolo, and Daniel, as well as Good Luck and the squad at EAS! So much love to everyone that helped us on the journey. We were treated to a cold but calm and sunny morning with a spectacular sunrise. So many memories to cherish for a lifetime on this year’s edition of Kilimanjaro. Sad it has come to an end, but already looking forward to the next adventure- not only with this crew but with many others next year when we return to Africa! See you on the summit! Kilimanjaro is so much more than a mountain.

For us, it’s about bringing people together — our incredible Tanzanian staff, guides, porters, and our clients from around the world — and creating a true family atmosphere from day one.

We hike together. We encourage each other. We laugh together. We celebrate together.

And when we’re not hiking, that’s when some of the best memories are made. 🃏🎶💃🏽🍲

Cards around camp. Dancing and singing. Amazing food. Stories, jokes, and plenty of laughter. Those simple moments are what turn a group of people into a team — and eventually, into family.

Our goal is for everyone who joins us to feel like they are part of something bigger than themselves.

Because standing on the summit of Kilimanjaro is incredible…

…but looking around and knowing you shared the journey with people who became family?

That’s what it’s really about.

5 summits over the years of , In Steamboat it was 14 laps, 29,029 vertical feet, and a heart completely overflowing with gratitude. 🏔️✨ 🥾

Steamboat put up what might just be the toughest, most relentless course the 29029 team has ever created, but every single step was a reminder of what we’re capable of when we choose to lean into the challenge and just have some fun !

Overcoming that temporary pain is a gift we all carry, and watching so many incredible people grind through their own limits on that mountain was nothing short of inspiring.
I went into this event using the laps to lay down some serious work for my upcoming ultra races and big mountain 🏔️ projects ⛷️ but the true highlight was slowing down between the pushes to connect, chat, and share stories with so many of you on the trail. Thank you to everyone I got to have a conversation with - share a gondola with- or do part of a lap with!No matter your pace, how fast you hike, or when you cross that line—this mountain tests everyone to their core. Massive respect to every single athlete, volunteer, and crew member who made the magic happen this weekend. Always grateful to Colin O'Brady Marc Hodulich Jesse Itzler for letting this real Everest climber come and do the Everesting event- which btw is sometimes much harder than the real thing!
Walking away from this one stronger, deeply humbled, and energized for what’s next.
Now, we shift our eyes to Africa! 🌍 In just a short bit, I get the ultimate honor of leading some of my absolute favorite friends, clients, and even a few 29029 alums up Mount Kilimanjaro for hopefully my 11th Kili summit. Taking people to the top of the world me more joy than words can capture.

HUAYHUASH: SIX DAYS IN THE HIGH AND WILD 🏔️ 🇵🇪 🥾 🏕️ 🫏

Some adventures are hard to put into words. The Cordillera Huayhuash is one of them.

I just completed a 6-day, ~60-mile tour de Huayhuash, averaging roughly 10 miles a day while circling some of the most spectacular 20,000-foot peaks in the Andes.

And I didn’t simply follow the standard circuit 🫏 🐎 🏕️ .

I went ahead and added a small variation through the Alpine High Route of Paso de Trapecio and the Jurau Glacier Traverse—two sections that made an already incredible trek even more wild, technical, and unforgettable.

Endless glacial views. 🧊
Turquoise alpine lagunas. 🌊
High mountain passes. 🏔️
Long, challenging days. 🌄
Cold dips in crystal-clear lakes.
And perhaps best of all… very few people.

That sense of remoteness is what makes Huayhuash so special. In a world where many of the iconic trekking destinations are becoming increasingly crowded, this corner of Peru still feels raw, wild, and truly adventurous.
