In honor of Music in Our Schools Month, the Valders Area School District music department will present its annual Music In Our Schools concert on Tuesday, starting at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. The concert features all bands and choirs from fifth grade through 12th grade and traditionally ends with the entire group performing "The Battle Hymn of the Republic."
Also, the Journal will publish a full page honoring Music In Our Schools Month in this week's edition. It will feature a story about middle school music at Valders, along with photos, with local advertisers supporting the music programs by sponsoring the page.

The wrong date is given in this week's Journal for the Valders High School Day of Service. The event is Dec. 23, not next week Tuesday.
Here is the corrected story:

VHS students plan service day
The Valders High School Sources of Strength group will sponsor the third annual Day of Service on Dec. 23, with students going into the community for a morning of service projects. Students will help at 23 locations, while some stay on campus to bake cookies, write thank you cards for community members and cards to veterans and help with projects in the school. The group is looking for donations of the following: fleece for blanket tying, cookies for decorating, snacks and drinks for students and monetary donations for supplies. Contact the school to donate.
