Youth Baseball and Softball Coaches:
Thank you to those who have been submitting results of your Manitowoc County Youth Sports baseball and softball games. There is a lot of summer and many games left, and we have not heard from all of you! Those in our coverage area were sent emails asking for weekly reports, and the kids, parents and our readers love to hear about the games.
We can catch up on any games that haven't been reported and then go forward each week. Send those results to [email protected]
If you are reporting for the first time this summer, please include the roster with correct spelling of names with your first email.

Subscribers: Be aware that although the Valders Journal will be mailed as usual on Wednesday afternoon, the U.S. Postal Service will not be delivering mail on Thursday, due to the federal holiday of Juneteenth. That will delay delivery until Friday for most subscribers in the area.

*****ATTENTION*****

Tonight, June 16th, the Valders Fire Department will conduct a training exercise at Valders High School from 4 pm to 10 pm. You will see multiple fire apparatus in the area of the Greenhouse, and at some points, you may even see some smoke.

The Valders School District is aware and will have a representative on site with us during the exercise.

Please avoid the area during this exercise; we will have signs out during this time.

The Valders softball team got a hero's welcome home after clinching the sectional title. They needed some late-game toughness and great teamwork to defeat Appleton Xavier, 8-2. The Vikings will play next Friday in Madison. They will learn their seeding and opponent on Saturday. Full coverage and photos by Cathy Rusch in next week's Journal.

The winner of tonight’s game will advance to State Softball Tournament in Madison next weekend.

📍 Where: Chilton High School
🕔 Game Time: 5:00 PM
🚪 Gates Open: 4:30 PM
🎟️ Admission: $7 (Kids under 6: $1)
❗ No passes accepted
⚔️ Valders vs Xavier

🏟️ Seating: Chilton has bleachers, but feel free to bring your own chair! Valders fans will be seated on the 3rd base side.

⭐️ Chilton Baseball will be playing in their Regional Final baseball game also at 5 at the diamond next to us, so please see the below for details and a map for softball parking vs baseball parking.

♦️The red diamond on the map is the location of thr softball diamond.

♿ Handicap Parking: The white X by the baseball parking lot is where SOFTBALL fans needing handicap parking should enter. They will park in the lot just outside of the softball fence. Please stop at one of the ticket booths (which are all next to the road) and purchase your ticket before entering.

🚗 All Other Parking: Please park in the high school lot and walk to the field (This is where we park for basketball and volleyball games). There is another lot south of the middle school (down the 3rd base line of the baseball field) that we will be sharing with baseball fans as well. RED outline is for softball parking. Blue outline is for baseball parking. GREEN outline is for softball or baseball. The yellow X marks are the ticket gates.

The Legislative lines recently changed and much of our area is now in the 3rd Assembly District, which Rep. Tusler represents. For reference, see the District map, with Whitelaw, Valders and St. Nazianz circled in red.
