Today we had the privilege of welcoming our 2026 Board of Directors, MLS leadership, and Committee Chairs for our annual Leadership Orientation!

We are incredibly grateful for each of our volunteers who dedicate their time, talent, and passion to serving our board and our members. Your commitment makes all the difference, and we could not do what we do without you.

Yesterday’s luncheon marked the final event of the year and it was the perfect way to close out an incredible year.

We proudly installed our new local and state directors, along with our incoming 2026 President and President-Elect. A special highlight was the passing of the gavel from our current President, Steve Miller, to Kelly Robbins.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our Regional Director for making the trip to install our officers. Your presence and support meant so much to our Board.

This luncheon served as a celebration of all we accomplished together this year.
Our board:
• Supported the community through meaningful service projects

• Raised funds to donate to local charities

• Offered professional development and hosted classes all year for our members

• Exceeded our RPAC fundraising goals to support political advocacy

• Enjoyed a successful year of social events, brought together beautifully by our Social Committee, with this luncheon being their final event of the year .

Thank you to our amazing leadership and committee chairs!!!

And thank you to everyone who attended and continues to support our Board. We are grateful for such an engaged membership and look forward to an even more amazing year ahead.

Last week, our Social Committee hosted their final special event of the year — a Murder Mystery at Anonville Manor, held at Hallabrook Hill!

A huge thank you to all our amazing characters who truly outperformed in their roles. Congratulations to our Best Dressed winner, Sugar Ann Flower (played by Suzanne Montgomery), and our Best Actress award recipient, Principal Amethyst (played by Natalie Smith)!

We also want to thank the Social Committee for their hard work in bringing this event to life, and a special shoutout to Bob White Coffee Co. for providing the winning table gift cards.

It was an evening full of murder, mystery, and mayhem — and we couldn’t have asked for a better turnout. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event. We look forward to another fantastic one in the future

✨ Yesterday, our Professional Development Committee hosted a Fair Housing class for our members, led by Instructor Cheryl King.

As a reminder, Fair Housing is now an NAR requirement on a three-year cycle, just like the Code of Ethics. Be sure to complete your credit hours for the 2025–2027 cycle to stay compliant.

The Valdosta Board of Realtors® had the joy of serving as Miracle League buddies, bringing smiles to so many kids’ faces! Thanks to the pickleball fundraiser, our Community Service Committee was also proud to donate $600 to support the Miracle League.

✨ Today’s Luncheon was a huge success! ✨

We kicked things off by introducing our leadership team, committees, new members, and recognizing our amazing affiliates. Committee sign-ups for next year are now open, and nominating ballots for next year’s slate of officers were passed around.

A big thank you to our RPAC Trustee for our District, Missy Sherwood, for presenting RPAC flag recognitions to Amelia Hidy, Hope Brown, and (in her absence) Misty Yeargan.

We were also joined by Andy Thomas with Weissman PC, who shared valuable information on current scams targeting our industry, followed by our keynote speaker, Bobby Cumby, Krav Maga Instructor, who gave both a powerful demonstration and excellent safety advice for REALTORS® showing homes in the community.

Committee reports were full of great updates:

-Nominating shared that our 2026 slate of officers has officially passed.

-Community service reminded us about next week’s Miracle League volunteer opportunity—sign-ups are still open!

-RPAC proudly announced we’ve surpassed our fundraising goal, and on the state level, we’re at an incredible 380% of our goal.

-Professional Development highlighted upcoming classes, including next week’s Fair Housing course—don’t forget to register.

-Social Committee reminded us about our next luncheon and the exciting Murder Mystery event in October.

We were especially honored to have our District 11 Regional Director, J.T. Harrison, join us—it’s always a pleasure when he can attend.
