A statement from Yamaha: It was an impressive debut for Deegan in front of the home crowd. He had a solid qualifying effort in sixth. Then Moto 1 got off to a chaotic start, with Deegan nearly going down in the first turn and finding himself deep in the field. The 20-year-old put in a determined ride, fighting all the way to the finish to cross the line fifth. In the second moto, he was 15th after the start and once again launched an impressive charge, advancing to fourth by the halfway mark and holding the position to secure fifth overall on the day.

Haiden Deegan said: 🗣️ “Today was good, I qualified sixth and then Moto 1 had a good start until I tucked it in the first turn. I saved it, but man, it was sketchy. I came from 25th to fifth, so that was a good ride. I had good battles with all these guys in the top 10, who are champions. So it was a fun time learning and battling those guys. Then Moto 2, I got a little better start, but obviously we’ve got to work on that, because if we can start up front, I think we’ll have a better chance of getting on the podium. I made my way back up to fourth from 15th on the start. So a 5-4 on the day, for fifth overall. I’d definitely say it was a good first-round rookie debut. We’ll go back to work this week, get the bike dialed in, do great starts, and come out swinging in Hangtown.”

FIRST LOOK! 2027 YAMAHA YZ85 & YZ85LW 🔵

Yamaha has updated its 2027 YZ85 and YZ85LW for younger racers, giving both models a long list of changes aimed at improving rideability, reliability and overall performance. The goal is to make the bikes easier to use across the entire powerband while helping growing riders become more competitive as their skills continue to develop.

The engine receives several updates, including a new MotoTassinari VForce4R reed valve, revised power valve, new air filter shape, updated carburetor settings and revised CDI ignition timing. Yamaha also added a heavier flywheel weight to improve power delivery and acceleration feel, while cooling and durability are improved with new alloy cylinder head material, a revised water pump impeller, updated water pump cover and transmission changes.

The chassis also gets attention with new engine and swingarm brackets designed to improve rigidity, cornering confidence and stability through big bumps and high-load situations. Other updates include sealed front wheel bearings, a new quick-action throttle with a smaller operating angle, improved clutch components and a water-resistant PVC handlebar pad to match the full YZ lineup.

FIRST LOOK! 2027 YAMAHA YZ450F & YZ450FX 🔵

Yamaha has released its 2027 YZ450F and YZ450FX, but the big news is on the cross-country side. The 2027 YZ450F returns unchanged mechanically and receives updated graphics for the new model year, while the 2027 YZ450FX gets a major update.

The new YZ450FX adopts the updated YZ450F design but shifts its focus toward improved comfort, control and rideability in technical terrain. Yamaha updated the engine, frame, suspension and several key components to create a bike that is easier to ride faster for longer, especially in tight woods, rocky trails and rough cross-country conditions.

The 2027 YZ450FX engine is tuned for smoother power delivery with more usable low-to-mid-range torque. It also gets a new 51-tooth rear sprocket, a new hydraulic clutch with a lighter pull, YZ450F-derived frame updates, revised engine brackets, KYB suspension tuned for more comfort and Dunlop Geomax AT82 cross-country tires.

The 2027 YZ450FX will be available this September for $10,499 MSRP, while the 2027 YZ450F will be available this July for $10,299 MSRP.

ALL-NEW 2027 YZ250F🔵🔵👀 Although it doesn’t look so different on the exterior, Yamaha is touting an “all-new” YZ250F for next year.

Following its big brother, the Yamaha YZ250F is gaining some major updates for 2027. It has an all-new engine, it switched from cable to hydraulic clutch (for the first time on the 250F), it also has all new clutch internals, with the basket and primary gear now integrated into one steel unit (we’re stoked on this!). Additionally, the engine was designed to meet the new AMA/FIM sound requirements.

It also gains the same aluminum frame that the YZ450F switched to for 2026.
