Dog ran out in front of a vehicle - slammed on their brakes and caused chain reaction. (Dog is safe)

Update: roadway opened/cleared.

Valley Center Road closed both directions at Vesper. Use Vesper as detour.
5:50pm A brush fire that ignited by the Valley Center Rd / Vesper bend was quickly extinguished in less than 10 minutes.
….and to the 911 caller who said the fire was “behind the roadrunner”, we haven’t been at that building on the hill for around 25 years. :-)

SR76 between Pala & Pauma - Be prepared for extended delays this evening due to road construction.
+\- 30-45 min delays both directions.

Advance notice was not released. CHP states they were not notified of the roadwork causing extended delays during the evening traffic hours.
