Coming this weekend, the Taghkanic Chorale presents: “Rejoice and Sing!”
Choral Masterworks for the Season

8:00 PM Saturday, Dec. 13 &
4:00 PM Sunday, Dec. 14
St. Columbanus Church
122 Oregon Rd. Cortlandt Manor, NY 10567

The Taghkanic Chorale presents seasonal
masterworks, performed on period
instruments with distinguished soloists
directed by Maestro Jason C. Tramm.
The program features the youthful brilliance
and contrapuntal vitality of Handel’s
Dixit Dominus, alongside three motets
by Michael Praetorius, Johannes Brahms,
and Felix Mendelssohn, each offering
unique perspectives on the sacred choral
tradition across centuries.
The concert concludes with the luminous
Herr, wenn die stolzen Feinde schnauben
from J.S. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio
(BWV 248), a work of festive grandeur
that epitomizes the richness of Lutheran
baroque music.
This performance offers a rare opportunity
to experience these cornerstones of the
choral canon in historically informed
style, illuminating their expressive power
and enduring resonance.

Seniors: $22. Students: $12.
