Another Outback in the Midwest done and dusted! This year was the 10th anniversary, which has been the biggest yet with over 630 holdens!
On Friday, we had 250 Holdens at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, announced this years giveaway car AND they all got to do a couple laps around the track… There has not been any “privately owned” cars that have been allowed to do that since 2018 which is wild. (Two of my cars in the pic on track!) Friday night folks also had the option to go down to browncountydragway to do some good ole drag racing if they wanted to.
Saturday was the big day, show day of course. Like always it goes by quick and it’s so hard to truly be in the moment. But, what I’ve gathered is yes, this event is centered around the cars, but it’s the people that make it great, without the people the community would be like any other normal car community.
Meeting people at this event has gotten me to be able to travel over to Australia, and people that I’ve met along the way opened up their homes with open arms. Also, being able to attend the events I could’ve never dreamed of going to - while driving a Wagon that I could only buy with the help of great friends doing the legwork in person for me. It’s really hard to describe this event, just like summernats was - It’s the people, the vibes and much more. The thing I’ve gathered from reflecting on my last 6 years of attendance from this event is to put good vibes out there, talk to people, and always be willing to be there for folks if they need a helping hand, the universe truly gives back 10 fold.
Special shoutout to the BNB Autohaus fellas for always being good blokes, and for talking Deacon Vermaak and Spotto for coming to see what this event is really like 👊🏻
Most importantly, my good friend Travis Bell and his wife Haley for being the best hosts anyone could ask for.
