The Powerhouse Visitor Center will be open to the public every Saturday in May. Come explore the Powerhouse for the first time or take a walk down memory lane!

🚨 TRAFFIC & PARK CLOSURE NOTICE 🚨

R. Shaefer Heard Day Use Park and the road across West Point Dam will be closed to all vehicle traffic on Sunday, April 27 for the West Point Lake Triathlon hosted by Georgia Multisports Productions. 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏃

📅 Event Details: • Triathlon begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends around 12:30 p.m. EST
• Staged from the boat ramp area at R. Shaefer Heard Park
• Spectators must arrive before 7 a.m. – no vehicle entry after that time

⛔ Closures: • Boat ramps closed Friday night through Sunday afternoon (April 25–27)
• Park must be vacated by 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 26 for setup
• Dam road & park remain closed until event concludes

🚗 Alternative recreation areas:
• Long Cane Park (GA side)
• Anderson Park (AL side)
Both offer boat ramps, picnic spots, pavilions, and restrooms!
