Can Christians find themselves at war with other Christians?

History says yes.
Even today, there are conflicts around the world where people on both sides profess faith in Jesus Christ. That raises an important question:
If we are all following the same Lord, what is God trying to teach His people through the experiences of life?
The Bible teaches that God knows our lives from beginning to end. One believer may be wealthy and own businesses. Another may struggle financially. One may have a large ministry. Another may quietly serve a family and a small church. One may be healthy. Another may live with pain and disability.
This is very similar to the mistake Job’s friends made. They looked at his suffering and assumed they understood what God was doing. They believed they could evaluate his standing before God by looking at his circumstances. But they were wrong. Only God saw the whole picture.
Every believer is being led through a unique journey. God’s primary objective is not that we all have the same circumstances. His objective is to reveal Jesus Christ more fully and form His character within us.
Success and failure, joy and sorrow, gain and loss, strength and weakness can all become part of that process.
This is why we should stop comparing ourselves to one another. Instead, we should help one another. The believer with resources can help the believer in need. The believer with wisdom can encourage the believer who is struggling. The believer who is strong today may be the one who needs help tomorrow.
Every member of the Body of Christ has something valuable to bring to the table.
Perhaps we spend too much time measuring people by worldly standards and not enough time seeing them through God’s eyes.
Maybe the real question is not, “How successful am I compared to someone else?”
Maybe the question is, “Am I coming to know Jesus Christ more deeply through the life God has given me?”
