🍂 FINALLY FEELING LIKE OCTOBER! 🍂
Enjoy the fall-like weather for the next couple of days because the mid to upper 70s return by Monday, unfortunately. No meaningful rain is in the forecast either for the next seven days so, drought conditions will likely worsen even after the rain Monday night into Tuesday morning. It does look like we get into a more active pattern (hopefully) by late week next week. Fingers crossed for more rain!

RAINY AND STORMY NIGHT AHEAD

Cold front slowly making its way through the area will bring with it some much needed rain tonight, especially after midnight. Showers should hold off for the first few innings of the Cubs game in Milwaukee where the roof will be open at least until the rain starts. After a rainy start tomorrow, it will FINALLY feel like October! It will warm up again this weekend so enjoy the brief taste of fall!

SUNNY AND WARM CONDITIONS CONTINUE

Another day in the 80s is expected again today through Wednesday with no rain chances in the forecast over the next 7 days. That will allow drought conditions to worsen area wide. Most of us are in a D0 drought (bright yellow) but across portions of Northern Indiana into SW Michigan, and NW Cook County IL there are areas of D1 (peach color) moderate drought, and that will only worsen here in the coming week. Thankfully, with the growing season over and the harvest pretty much wrapped up there aren't really that many implications, severe drought is affecting some of our Central Indiana friends were they have burn bans in effect. Fingers crossed for some rain just beyond the 7-day!

Scattered showers will continue tonight into tomorrow, VUTV Weather Director Mason Gleva times out the rain chances, including a chance for lake-effect rain Thursday as well as a sunny and warm weekend ahead!

HOT TODAY, SOGGY WEEKEND AHEAD

It's going to feel like summer today! Highs near 90 degrees this afternoon, might have some more clouds sneak in as the evening goes on but sakes should remain relatively clear today. Tomorrow, our next weather maker arrives. Showers and storms likely to form from west to east after lunchtime. The Notre Dame game should start dry but by halftime there will be showers and storms around and that will continue throughout the the afternoon and evening. Then copy and paste the same for your Sunday. If you are attending the Purdue vs Notre Dame game bring the rain jacket or a poncho! You'll likely need it especially in the second half, kickoff in South Bend is at 3:30 pm ET or 2:30 CT.

Chances for rain continue throughout the week, not a complete washout but we will have to dodge showers at times. Wednesday and Thursday look to be the driest days out of the next seven. I'll have more details in my weekend weather update tomorrow!

ANOTHER GORGEOUS DAY!

Temperatures currently sitting in the mid 70s areawide and we will make it into the 80s again today! Lots of sunshine expected today and tomorrow, with increasing clouds on Friday as our next weather maker gets closer. Chances for periodic showers and storms start Sunday, greatest coverage would likely be in the afternoon and the evening Sunday-Tuesday next week. Not a complete washout, there will be dry time between the rounds of rain. Temperatures will also cool back into the 70s by this time next week!
