STORMS POSSIBLE TONIGHT INTO TOMORROW

VUTV Weather Director Mason Gleva has today's weather update. Chances for storms tonight and tomorrow, the better chance being through lunchtime tomorrow. Not concerned with any severe weather and not everyone will see storms, if you do they would be heavy rainfall producers and probably loud. Some more showers are possible the second half of Wednesday and then more scattered showers and storms on Thursday before drying out this weekend with more seasonable temperatures settling in.

SHOWERS AND STORMS THIS AFTERNOON ⛈

Showers and storms are beginning to roll into the area now, with the heaviest of them just to our south slowly moving off to the NE at 20-30mph putting them into Valpo closer to 2pm this afternoon. Everything should be out of here by 5 or 6 tonight. Temperatures are cooler today than they were at this time yesterday, holding only in the low 70s with upper 40s to mid 50s along the lakeshore. A north wind behind the front will knock us into the 40s to barely 50 tomorrow! That's 10-15° below average! Temperatures surge back towards 80° by Monday though.

With the warm up we do have some chances for strong to severe storms beginning late Monday night into early Tuesday morning, a line of storms will develop over Iowa and race off to the north and east Monday afternoon and evening, highest severe weather threat remains NW of Rockford, and the timing isn't the best for widespread severe weather here locally with it being the middle of the night. It might be a little loud around here Tuesday morning as whatever is left of the line rolls through. The main concern is Tuesday afternoon and evening for another round of potentially strong to severe storms, stay with us for updates on that! It's still 5 days out so, there is a lot that of uncertainty. The threat is trending earlier in the day Tuesday which could eliminate our threat entirely, I will have an update on Monday once we know more about Tuesday! Even after our next cold front moves through on Tuesday temps look to stay in the 60s to near 70° to end the school year!
