Some of you have been following us since the start and some of you are newer followers. We’d like to re-introduce ourselves.

You might’ve seen us say “East Side & West Side.” This is because we are a very small rescue with just 2 foster homes. The East Side is our small dog division & West Side large dog division. Both will have medium sized dogs sprinkled in at times.
The only exception is Kola, she is being fostered by our friend who also fostered Bea & Bubba.

The two of us do it all. We are photographers & content creators. We drive, a lot 🥵 shelter dog pickups, vet appts, meet & greets & adoptions 🚕

We respond to your comments, messages & emails. We provide around the clock care for our dogs, clean constantly and do mounds of dog laundry. There are hardly any days off & no sleeping in. Rescue life isn’t glamorous. We are in this for the dogs & nothing else. They deserve the best & that’s what they get here.

We want to express our gratitude to you all. We very much appreciate you following along, sharing our posts, giving words or encouragement & donating 🐾❤️

Ruskin – New child care facility (pretty sure it’ll be O2B Kids) has submitted construction plans for a project on Teco Rd just north of College Ave near the I-75 off ramp.

What caught my attention on this one is the engineering: since the site sits in a FEMA AE flood zone, the project requires an underground stormwater collection system using StormTech chambers.

For those not familiar: StormTech chambers are underground structures that efficiently manage excess stormwater in urban areas. They’re built from strong, lightweight plastic capable of handling heavy loads, making them ideal for installation under parking lots and roads.

Apollo Beach – Hammock Bay Phases 2 & 3 site plans were officially submitted to the County yesterday. The proposal includes 126 single-family detached homes on minimum 8,100 sf lots.

According to the plans, this expansion would impact the 5th and 6th holes, along with the 4th hole green, 13th hole tee box, and 14th hole green.

These plans have been known about since late 2024, but the official submission only just happened. Importantly, this doesn’t mean construction is right around the corner — there’s still a long way to go before homes are ever built, including major infrastructure (water, sewer, etc.) that would need to be installed first.

Brandon – Too many DM's and questions scattered about other posts not to re-mention this, but the vacant Bank of America building in Bloomingdale Square has plans submitted to subdivide the existing structure into 5 retail units…

Usually these are torn down and rebuilt, so repurposing an existing building is a refreshing change of pace.

No details on tenants yet, but once the buildout is complete, I’m sure the Owner will be more than happy to announce who’s moving in...not sure about a drive-thru option...
