Why Do Some People Deny What Is Clearly Shown on Video?

Paying attention to what is happening in America can make you question what type of people you inhabit earth with. Regarding the Alex Pretti video among others, I found it strange how differently people responded to the same footage. I found those that lacked empathy concerning.

It was weird to me that some viewers described events that never occurred, insisting the harm was justified. Like, did we see the same video? Others focused only on what was clearly visible and called it like it is.

This video explores why people sometimes deny what’s right in front of them, how motivated reasoning shape perception, and why defending a belief can feel easier than accepting an uncomfortable truth.

What do you think causes people to see the same video so differently?
