PARTNER PODCAST - Imagine the worst and most traumatic experience of your life being played out in front of a global audience in what would be called “the trial of the century”.

Having to navigate the grief of losing her brother Ron, endured scrutiny and criticism while she was thrown into the media spotlight in 1995.

In this episode Lisa Guerrero Unleashed, Kim gives a rare and intimate interview about what it was like to be in the center of that storm, what she thinks of the billion dollar business of “true crime” and the media’s responsibility to report fairly, accurately, and with empathy.

Rest in Power and Peace, Gloria Steinem
1934–2026

The National Women’s Coalition Against Violence & Exploitation joins people around the world in mourning the passing of , who died September 2 at the age of 92. For more than six decades, she was a groundbreaking writer, journalist, lecturer, political activist and feminist organizer whose courage helped transform the movement for equality.

[ “The truth will set you free, but first it will p**s you off!” ]

Gloria understood that truth is not always comfortable—but it is necessary. She used her voice to confront sexism, racism, gender and caste systems, child abuse and the roots of violence, including being a voice against domestic violence. She advocated for nonviolent conflict resolution, respect for Indigenous cultures and organizing across boundaries for peace, equality and justice.

Her life reminded generations of another powerful truth: “Whenever one person stands up and says, ‘Wait a minute, this is wrong,’ it helps other people do the same.”

At NWCAVE, those words strike at the heart of our mission. We honor Gloria Steinem not only for the doors she opened, but for the millions of people she inspired to walk through them—to speak out, challenge injustice, and refuse to accept violence, exploitation or inequality as inevitable.

May her legacy live on in every truth told, every survivor supported, every barrier challenged and every person who chooses courage over silence.

Rest in power, Gloria. Thank you for showing the world that change begins when one person speaks up—and continues when we all stand together. 💔
