Our Artist Showcase to celebrate the 2026 publication of the Salmon Creek Journal was a success!

Thank you everyone who showed up to support us and thank you to our amazing artists who made this possible. As some of you may know, the Salmon Creek Journal has not done a celebration event for some time, so this event was a huge milestone for us as an organization. Next year we plan to continue growing and creating community here at WSUV.

We look forward to celebrating you guys again next year :)

RSVP to join us in VMMC 107 on February 20th from 11 AM to 3 PM as WSUV’s art technician, Noah Matteucci, teaches us a bookbinding technique known as the coptic stitch. You come ready to learn a new skill, and we provide the supplies—as well as food! This event will be a great opportunity to make something you’re proud of, meet new people, and learn more about the Salmon Creek Journal and ArtX! However, materials are limited, so don’t forget to reserve your spot as soon as possible:

Title: RED RASPBERRY
WSU Undergraduate studying Fine Arts
Artist statement:
My name is Madeline Eileen Goolie (MEG) and I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. I grew up fishing, hiking, skiing, and rafting. In high school I fell in love with wheel throwing pottery and making jewelry. I am now in Pullman, Washington working towards my Bachelor in Fine Arts degree and plan to graduate in May of 2025. After that I plan to obtain a masters in teaching. Over the years I have enjoyed painting, pottery, film photography, and jewelry making. Recently I have been mainly working with ceramics and have started printmaking. RED RASPBERRY: Bears symbolize perseverance by being strong and stubborn animals just like most of us have had to do in recent years to be where we are now.
