Karl-Anthony Towns of the NBA Minnesota Timberwolves brought a much needed makeover to the basketball courts at Immaculate Conception School in the Pico-Union district Los Angeles! Watching the kid’s eyes light up when they saw their new basketball court for the first time was priceless! And KAT. He made their day!

In 2013 a group of Los Angeles based filmmakers got together to form a collective that would change the way independent creatives collaborate. At it’s core, the concept was simple… Pool talent and resources to make a bigger impact. Three months later, this talent pool would become 1987.

So why the name, 1987? That was the year our founder, Eric Alan Donaldson, graduated high school. It’s also a year that many of our contemporaries can relate to. College graduation, High School graduation, Middle School graduation, Elementary school graduation, Pre-school graduation or birth...! That, and our url was available! 1-9-8-7.com Hard to type. Difficult to voice command. Easy to remember!
