For the past couple months I’ve been busy preparing to move. Im putting my house up for sale and going to my off grid 120 acre ranch. It’s always been a dream of mine to live there, and unfortunately there’s a lot of work to get it back into shape after the hands I left it in. Fortunately while I get the house back into shape, there’s many great places on the property to camp, and I’ve got a big barn I can put all my furniture in as well. Once it’s back in photo-worthy condition I look forward to sharing photos and videos.

Today I would like to tell you about being the recipient of a random act of kindness. On my way from Telluride to Moab, I decided to take a detour to the Cortez Walmart to pick up some supplies. Shortly after, I passed this place in Pleasant View Colorado and it smelled so good I turned around and stopped. There was a gentleman there ordering some meat and so I asked him, “ do I go with the brisket or the tri-tip sandwich?” He told me I couldn’t go wrong with either, so I decided to go for the brisket. Our food came out at the same time and for whatever reason this man decided to pay for my sandwich. I did not get a picture of this sandwich before inhaling it. It was hands down the best brisket sandwich I have ever had. One day I will return , and I’m going to pay it forward and buy somebody their sandwich. If your ever traveling on the 491, stop here; The Gettin’ Place( 2nd slide), you will not regret it.
