The Evolution of Evolved
After earning my Master’s in Rhetoric & Composition, I spent years immersed in the world of print—writing for local newspapers and, most notably, Tattoo and Tattoo Savage Magazine. Language has always fascinated me—its ability to move, connect, and provoke. That passion eventually led me to create something of my own.
In 2012, I launched {E-volved}, a self-published art magazine exploring the intersection of tattooing and fine art. It celebrated artists of all backgrounds and quickly grew into an internationally distributed publication, stocked in bookstores, and tattoo shops worldwide—including over 300 Barnes & Noble locations. A passion project turned underground phenomenon.
After 10 years in print, I made the difficult decision to sunset the magazine in 2022 due to rising production and shipping costs. But Evolved was never meant to stay still—it’s always been about transformation.
Now, the next chapter begins.
Opening soon in the heart of Downtown Ventura, Evolved Art Gallery is the magazine come to life—a brick-and-mortar space dedicated to the bold, the raw, and the beautifully unconventional. We champion urban, emerging, and experimental artists—the weirdos, the misfits, and the visionaries who challenge the norm.
