Funny Picture Friday!!

What made you laugh or smile this week?

This is an older picture, but it is still one that always makes me smile. Koda and Chicken Nugget were the best of friends, and they would play every day together. Chicken Nugget would come to our door and wait for Koda to come outside. It was the sweetest relationship. Chicken Nugget has since passed on, and Koda has doubled in size, but this will always be one of my favorite relationships.

Let talk flys 🤢 what do you guys use?

Yesterday was fly trap cleaning day and I think that I am the only one in the family with a strong stomach when it comes to these things.

We set ours out about 2 weeks before fly season. This give that bait just enough time to really get dissolved, and start to stink a little bit. We have them all over the farm away from the animals and out of the barn. You don’t want to put them in the barn because that will draw them inside, so by placing them outside you draw them out… does this always work? No… but sure does help. Don’t get me wrong, we still put fly stips up in the goat hut and the chicken hut to get those inside, but they dont smell ANYTHING like these things.

And here is my best tip… don’t fully clean them out. I ALWAYS cleaned them. I’m talking rinse and repeat. However, it took the flys way longer to find the traps again, thus giving them time to multiply. By leaving them empty, but still smelly, flys are instantly attracted.
