Unexplained Cases is a paranormal documentary web series hosted on YouTube. Pre-production and planning began in late 2018, filming in early 2019, and the first episode dropped on March 29, 2019. It all began in Jackson, Mississippi, on WJTV-TV as a local broadcast news feature called “Unexplained”, which ran from 1999 until 2004. This innovative feature was the brainchild of Darren Dedo and Rick
Garner, who today are recognized as early pioneers of the “ghost hunting” genre, winning them high-praise and accolades including a Southeast
Regional Emmy and two Associated Press awards. In 2019, the concept was relaunched as Unexplained Cases (UC) and built on the original core principle of applying their unique style combining broadcast journalism and storytelling with historical research and preservation to investigate, uncover and document on a national scale ALL that is paranormal – hauntings, UFO sightings, cryptid encounters, cold cases, and much more. UC serves the living by documenting their stories, finding understanding of their paranormal encounters and educating ourselves and the public
on the paranormal. UC serves the dead by giving them a voice and sometimes experiencing their crossing over. We accomplish this through
teamwork, working with other professionals, being thought-leaders in the paranormal community, and effectively using existing and future technology. The work is featured in compelling video episodics, live
interviews, and special events. Over the past few years, the UC team has grown to add Michael Chinn as Lead Investigator and Researcher. In addition to having the privilege
to collaborate with several renowned paranormal investigators, including A&E’s Ghost Hunters Daryl Marston, Mustafa Gatollari, Brandon Alvis,
Brian Murray, and Richel Stratton, as well as Malia Miglino from YouTube’s “Macabre Mondays” and “Grave Hunter”.
