When we become Christians, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we are to put off our old nature and put on the new man. Our old human nature with the desire for the things of this world, are to be put away, and we are to make an active choice to put on the new man. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are to decide to put on the new man daily. This means we choose with our will to live as brand new creatures in Jesus Christ.

Christians are not to follow the fashions and customs of the world. They are not supposed to be going along with the crowd or responding to peer pressure. Movies, films, telvision, music, and what other people are doing are not to be our model for behavior. The people of this world who do not know Christ are living in spiritual darkness-they are clueless. We should not be following them but should be following Jesus Christ and His word.
