Wow!

LIVES CHANGED IN A FLASH | Courtroom observers said JaMaysha Butler would NOT face serious charges. Cynics said she would get her case dismissed even though she has been accused in an incident that SERIOUSLY injured a Beaumont (TX) police officer and could have killed him. Butler and Melissa Bell got into the confrontation with officers at the Little Woodrow's nightclub parking lot. The result of the ragefest was that Bell was put into a police unit but Butler allegedly attempted to flee in a red convertible. We showed you the video at the time. As Butler gunned it the officer toppled off the car and was rushed to the hospital. Butler was NOT INDICTED on a charge of Assault on a Peace Officer. The indictment was for Evading - and Escape Causing Serious Bodily Injury. Some officers understandably wondered what was up with that indictment although the Escape charges are also 2nd degree felony charges as the Assault charges would have been. Butler has a January court date. Its sad to see that in just a few moments on one silly night out drinking the lives of at least 3 people were forever unalterably changed.
