Subject: Timothy Bryan Claypool – Wanted Fugitive

Date: June 13, 2022





The Vidor Police Department is asking the public’s assistance in locating a dangerous wanted fugitive, Timothy Bryan Claypool age 31. Mr. Claypool is wanted out of Hardin County for a Failure to Appear warrant in a controlled substance investigation and a Bond revocation out of Jefferson County for Theft.



On Friday, June 10, 2022, Officers from the Vidor Police Department recovered a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of the 2300 block of N. Main that was borrowed by Mr. Claypool from a family member and not returned. Inside the vehicle, officers found an AK-47 rifle, Short barrel Savage Shotgun, a 9mm HW Arms Pistol and a Point Blank Ballistic Vest. Officers believe these weapon s and ballistic vest are stolen. Mr. Claypool is a convicted felon and registered s*x offender. He should not be in possession of a firearm or ballistic vest. Timothy Claypool has an extensive criminal record including robbery, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and aggravated s*xual assault of a child.

Some 200 mail ballots in county races remain to be tabulated with the possibility of others arriving today, according to Vidor city officials. It is currently unknown how many of those outstanding ballots were cast in the Vidor municipal election but with such a close race, just two ballots could also send the Ward 1 race into a runoff.

IT"S A SCAM-Orange County Sheriff deputies not demanding payments-
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has received information about phone calls made to citizens by a person or persons claiming to be a Deputy with the Orange County Sheriffs Office. This person is informing the victim that they owe money and the payment is to be made in gift cards.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office would not call demanding payments in any circumstance. If you receive a call similar to this, notify the authorities.

Wreck update--At approximately 8:30p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers received a report of a multiple vehicle crash on FM 105 in Orange County. The crash occurred near Turning Point Church in Vidor and involved an Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy.

The preliminary DPS crash investigation indicates that an Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy was traveling northbound on FM 105 and responding to a dispatched call. A Chevrolet passenger vehicle was pulling out from a convenience store parking lot and pulled into the path of the Deputy’s patrol unit. The Deputy was unable to avoid colliding with the Chevrolet. Both vehicles came to rest in the roadway.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 31-year-old Kimmie Chandler of Vidor, and her 7-year-old son were both transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Their injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

The second passenger in the Chevrolet, Chandler’s 4-year-old daughter, was transported by medical helicopter to the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston with serious injuries.

The Deputy sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

At this time, all lanes of FM 105 are closed between Spoonmore and Lakeview Cutoff as DPS Troopers complete the crash investigation. Motorists should expect delays.

All information is preliminary and there are no additional details available at this time.

FM 105 wreck in Pine Forest-At approximately 8:30p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers received a report of a multiple vehicle crash on FM 105 in Orange County. The crash occurred near Turning Point Church in Vidor.

DPS Troopers and other emergency personnel are at the scene of the crash where injuries have been reported. This is an active crash scene; therefore, details are limited at this time.

Motorists are urged to use caution while traveling in the area and to stay alert for stopped or slow moving vehicles. Traffic on FM 105 could be stopped temporarily for emergency vehicles entering and exiting the crash scene.

Four killed in two IH-10 crashes-
At approximately 9:30a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers drove up on a multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 10, near FM 1136, in Orange County. The crash involved two (2) commercial motor vehicles, with one vehicle engulfed in flames.

The preliminary DPS crash investigation indicates that a commercial motor vehicle was traveling westbound, in the middle traffic lane, on Interstate 10. According to the driver, the vehicle became inoperable and was stopped in the middle traffic lane. A second 18-wheeler was traveling westbound on the Interstate and rear-ended the disabled vehicle. Upon impact, the second 18-wheeler was engulfed in flames with the driver being ejected.

The driver of the second 18-wheeler, which caught fire, was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Chad Jenkins at the scene. Troopers are working to confirm the driver’s identity and notify next of kin.

The driver of the other commercial motor vehicle was not injured.

At this time, all westbound traffic lanes, near FM 1136, remain closed for an undetermined amount of time. Motorists are urged to find an alternate travel route. Second crash info--current as of 1:30 pm Dec, 9---At approximately 11:15a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to secondary crash in the westbound traffic lanes of Interstate 10 in Orange County. This crash occurred approximately two (2) miles east of the first crash, near FM 1136. This crash involved a commercial motor vehicle and a passenger vehicle.

The initial DPS crash investigation indicates that an 18 wheeler was traveling westbound on Interstate 10 and stopped due to traffic congestion from the earlier crash. The driver of a passenger vehicle was also traveling westbound on the Interstate, failed to control his speed and rear-ended the stopped commercial motor vehicle.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Chad Jenkins at the scene. Troopers are working to identify the driver and notify his next of kin.

Both female occupants in the passenger vehicle were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Unfortunately, both were pronounced deceased by emergency room personnel a short time later. Both adult women were from the Ft. Myers, Florida area. DPS Troopers are working to gather information on their ages and notify next of kin.

The driver of the commercial motor vehicle was not injured.

All westbound traffic lanes of Interstate 10 remain closed. Motorists are urged to find an alternate travel route. Expect delays.

All information is preliminary as Troopers continue to investigate this fatal crash. There are no additional details available at this time.

Second crash on IH-10 as DPS investigates earlier accident-
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a second crash that occurred on Interstate 10 westbound, approximately two (2) miles east of the crash near FM 1136. This crash involves a commercial motor vehicle and a passenger vehicle.

Motorists are urged to slow down and stay alert for stopped or slowing moving vehicles on the Interstate.

All westbound lanes of Interstate 10 from FM 1136 eastward are closed due to motor vehicle crashes. Motorists are urged to find an alternate travel route. Expect delays.

TRAFFIC ALERT-ORANGE COUNTY: (From DPS) At this time, all westbound lanes of Interstate 10, near FM 1136, in Orange County are closed due to a multiple vehicle crash. The crash involves multiple commercial motor vehicles with one vehicle engulfed in flames.

This just in--IH-10 to be completely shut down In Rose City--
All eastbound and westbound traffic lanes of Interstate 10 in Rose City will be closed while Entergy replaces essential utility lines. This closure will also include the service roads.

The closure will begin at 12:30p.m. and is expected to last less than an hour.

Motorists should expect delays.
