Can't wait to hear Johnnie Allan's new album!

Swamp Pop Legend Johnnie Allan and Cajun Music Great Travis Matte visited KVPI studios today to promote the release of a new Johnnie Allan CD entitled “Songs From the Heart”. The country flavored songs are original songs composed by Johnnie through the years. Travis Matte produced the cd at his recording studio. The CD can be ordered directly from Johnnie Allan on his page. We recorded an interview with the two that will air next Friday at 12:30pm on KVPI FM 92.5. We will begin airing some of the songs from the CD on Swamp Pop Fridays on 92.5 and on KVPI The Legend 107.3 FM and 1050 AM.

Tune in to Swamp Pop Friday for our spotlight on the hits of Dale and Grace to celebrate the birthday of the late Dale Houston, born April 23, 1940. Their hits included "I'm Leaving It Up to You" and "Stop and Think it Over." Dale passed away September 27, 2007 at the age of 67.

What an honor!

The Louisiana Association of Broadcasters held their Prestige Awards Luncheon today. We were so thrilled, honored and grateful to be awarded the "Uniquely Louisiana" award in the Small Market Radio Station category.

And then...

KVPI was announced as the winner of the Small Market "Radio Station of the Year!"
