Thanksgiving week has been the unofficial start of the Indiana high school boys basketball season for decades now, but given the holiday, some teams opt not to play that weekend.

The basketball season gets into full swing this weekend, though it’s a girls game that headlines the local slate.

All eight Knox County high school teams play this weekend, but the one drawing the most eyes will be the Class 2A showdown between No. 1 North Knox and defending State Champion and No. 8 South Knox, which is a 6:30 p.m. varsity-only matchup Saturday.
