🌱 What This Week Taught Me

1ļøāƒ£ Your body will tell the truth even when your mind tries to ignore it.
Exhaustion is data. Pain is data. Migraines are data.

2ļøāƒ£ Old habits don’t disappear just because you want them to.
You have to replace them with new patterns, little by little.

3ļøāƒ£ Overworking is still self-neglect disguised as productivity.
And it always catches up with you.

4ļøāƒ£ Healing is repetitive work.
You don’t learn a boundary once.
You practice it every day.

5ļøāƒ£ Being dependable is beautiful… until it breaks you.
You deserve the same care you give everyone else.

6ļøāƒ£ Accountability saves lives.
Even one ā€œhey, did you rest today?ā€ message can soften the whole day.

7ļøāƒ£ Rest is not optional.
Your body will collect the debt if you don’t honor it.

This week humbled me…
but it also realigned me.
And I needed that. šŸ’œ

What lesson did life teach you this week?

🌿 My Body Humbled Me This Week

I promised myself this week would look different.
I said I’d stay committed to my boundaries.

I literally told myself:
ā€œPortia, you’re going to schedule your content, rest, focus on self-care, and stop overworking.ā€

And then…
life humbled me real quick.

Even after being in the hospital.
Even after promising myself I’d do things differently.
Even after saying I would slow down.

I slipped right back into an old pattern.

Instead of resting like I planned,
I stayed up 24 hours straight working on a project that was already submitted.

Why?
Because I wanted it to be perfect.
Because I didn’t want to let anyone down.
Because I’ve spent years being the one who pushes herself to the edge
just to make sure everyone else is okay.

And honestly…
that’s a beautiful trait —
until it starts to break you.

Today, my body checked me HARD.
The exhaustion hit.
The migraine came back.
My medication isn’t even available yet because the pharmacy has to order it.

And my body basically said:
ā€œHoney… why are you putting everything before yourself again?ā€

Whew.
I felt that.

Healing isn’t linear.
Boundaries aren’t instant.
Growth isn’t always glamorous.

Sometimes you slip back into what’s familiar,
even when it’s no longer healthy.

But here’s what I’m learning (slowly):
Accountability and community matter.

When I check in with people…
When people check in with me…
When someone reminds me to drink water, log off, take breaks, breathe…
I stay more grounded.
More aware.
More intentional.

So if you’re trying to find balance…
If you’re learning to put yourself first…
If you’re unlearning the habit of self-sacrifice…

I see you.
I’m right there with you.
Let’s heal together.
Let’s rest together.
Let’s hold each other accountable. šŸ’œ

What’s ONE thing you’re promising yourself this week?
