Methodist Boys’ High School is one of Sierra Leone’s oldest and most respected secondary schools. Founded on 6 April 1874 as the Wesleyan Methodist Boys’ High School, it has produced distinguished leaders in education, law, medicine, business, politics, and public service for over 150 years. The school is also credited as the first school in Freetown to establish a marching band, which debuted in 1885.
