There is no way to truly put into words what you do to make Roast on the River happen. Year after year, you give your time, your talent, your muscle, and your hearts to this event — and you do it without spotlight or fanfare.

The Road to 2020

For over three decades I’ve been doing my best to create amazing memories with beautiful people and I’ve loved almost every moment of it! I’m fortunate to have worked with and for some of the most talented people in the event industry on the East Coast in Virginia and North Carolina and on the West Coast in San Diego. I’ve done Mitzvahs, Weddings, Baby Showers, Holiday Events and Funerals all in the same family and I’ve had repeat Corporate Clients that have followed me for 20+ years. I’ve designed an event to host my idol John Daly and I’ve worked behind the scenes for bands like Ozzy Osbourne and Kenny Chesney. I’ve worked on a Marine Corp Ball, Helicopter Squadron Ball, Change of Command, Ship Commissioning and Decommissioning, the Most Meaningful Fundraisers and Appreciation Galas and Super Fun Charitable Events

And with all that, I know I haven’t even begun to live my full potential. The Best is Yet to Come!

On November 1, 2019 I, with a lot of help from my friends, opened the doors to Joan Bertucci Events. Finally after 31 years in Catering, 27 in Full Production Off Premise Catering working for people who have afforded me the means to learn and the opportunities to create but for someone else’s success nonetheless. I thank them all from age 17 to 52: My Mom, growing up and working in her Bar/ Restaurants, The Omni Hotel Norfolk, Catering Central Norfolk Naval Air Station, Ships Cabin with Joe Hoggard, Cypress Point County Club, Toques Creative Catering, Catering Concepts, Culinary Concepts, Sevilla Catering, Behind the Scenes Events and Chesapeake Bay Catering.

And now in front of me lies a blank page where I, along with my talented friend Holly Hancock and my, gifted daughter Allie Bertucci tend to leave our mark...... We’ve got big plans for 2020!
