South Africa, you were amazing! 🇿🇦🌍

We recorded dozens of episodes and conversations for the Across the Globe Podcast, captured stories from around the world, and met some incredible people along the way.

So thankful for the Global Methodist Church and its continued partnership with Shed Studios. It’s been an unforgettable week telling the stories of what God is doing across the globe.

We’re heading back to the States tonight with a 16-hour flight ahead of us. ✈️

South Africa, what an amazing trip! 🇿🇦🌍

The culture, the food, the people, and the work we were able to do were all equally incredible. I had such a great time helping bring the stories of the Global Methodist Church’s General Conference to life alongside co-hosts Jason Nix and Dianne Burnette.

It was also such a joy working alongside an incredible communications team throughout the week. So many talented people worked tirelessly behind the scenes to capture and share what was happening across the Church.

And a huge thank you to my assistant and partner in all of this, Eric Shuey. He was absolutely amazing throughout the entire trip and helped make everything we accomplished possible.

The Global Methodist Church has been such a blessing to work with, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to help tell these stories and share what God is doing across the globe.

South Africa, thank you for an unforgettable experience. Now, back to America! 🇺🇸✈️

Today marks our final full day of production in South Africa. Tomorrow, we’ll wrap up with a half day before flying home.

It has been an incredible experience partnering with the Global Methodist Church and interviewing leaders, bishops, clergy, and delegates from the United States, Europe, South America, Asia, and Africa. We have had dozens of podcasts! We’re grateful for every story shared and every relationship formed.

We’re excited to get home, reunite with our families, take a few days off and then get back into the studio!

We’re here for a few more days capturing stories from all over the world for the Across the Globe Podcast. We’ve had so many meaningful conversations, met some incredible people, and heard powerful stories.

This is a special project.

Only a couple of times in my career have I had the opportunity to produce an album for a student I started working with before they even played music. Today, my friend and former student Landon Holmes, who releases music under the name High_Morale, released his debut EP.

Getting to make this record together was a full-circle moment. Over last Christmas break, we spent a lot of time jamming, recording, reliving my pop-punk roots, and bringing these songs to life. It was an absolute blast.

Landon is also the son of my former boss and very good friend, Jess Holmes. I remember meeting Landon when he probably wasn’t even in kindergarten yet, so sitting in the studio all these years later, writing songs, playing guitars, and producing his debut EP together was pretty surreal.

Today we sat down with a Conference Superintendent from Panama to hear stories from the church in Central America, followed by a conversation with members of the General Conference Worship Team about leading worship, unity, and bringing together musicians from around the world.

So many different cultures, stories, and experiences, all centered around the same mission. Grateful to be in Johannesburg capturing these conversations and helping bring them to life.

Day 1 of conference wrapped up in South Africa! 🎙️🌍

A full day of conversations and stories from the Beauty of Holiness General Conference here in Johannesburg, South Africa. Today we had the opportunity to sit down with Keith Boyette, one of the key leaders who helped lay the foundation for the Global Methodist Church; Kabah Mwenze, clergy from the Democratic Republic of the Congo; and Rick Enns, Conference Superintendent of the West Plains Conference in the United States.

We ended the day with our daily conference recap with hosts Jason Nix and Dianne Burnett, reflecting on the conversations, moments, and stories coming out of the day.

This is why we love what we do at Shed Studios. Every person has a story worth hearing, and there’s something powerful about creating the space for those stories to be told and shared with others.

Pre-conference production day complete! 🎙️🌍

Today we had the opportunity to sit down with Simon Mafunda, Director of Africa; Ludek Janda, a translation leader from the Czech Republic; Conference Superintendent Jerry Kulah from Liberia; and Bishop Kimba Evariste from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

So many incredible stories and conversations from across the globe. The Beauty of Holiness General Conference officially begins tomorrow, and we’re just getting started. It’s been a great day!
