Congratulations to one of own, Kris Hregdovic, on being named Honor Man of Class 138 at The Honor Foundation

This recognition isn’t about being the loudest voice in the room or having the longest résumé. It’s about character, humility, service, and the impact you have on the people around you.

One of the greatest lessons from Class 138 was that leadership isn’t something we leave behind when we take off the uniform. It’s something we carry into every relationship, every challenge, and every opportunity to serve others.

Kris embodied that mindset throughout the program by showing up authentically, leading with vulnerability, and investing in those around him. This recognition is a reflection of the person he chose to become, not just the accomplishments he’s achieved.

Congratulations, Kris. We’re proud of you and excited to see the impact you’ll continue to make in this next chapter.

Thank you to The Honor Foundation for investing in veterans and helping them transition from successful military careers to lives of continued purpose and service.

Kris is very blessed to have been invited as the keynote speaker in Nags Head, NC on August 6th for a unique men’s ministry comprised of hunters and fishermen.

During his talk, he will share his testimony along with applicable lessons & steps gained from his professional and personal life on the following topics:

- Personal Identity (The 4 Pillars)
- Holistic purpose
- Self-awareness
- Maintaining your center through adversity

He’ll also spend the day out fishing with them and get to hear some of their stories which is the best part!

We all need to feel connected, to be heard, and understood about where we were at in our lives and not just hear a motivational speech, but someone to meet us where we are at and guide us to where we wanna go.

If you’re in the area and would like to attend or are interested in having me share these topics at your company, group, or team, reach out to set up a call and we’ll coordinate!

Leaders

Taking responsibility and accountability FIRST is the key character trait of a good leader. It is also the realization that you can only control one thing: how you respond to a circumstance.

Starting with an honest self evaluation of yourself and your involvement in the situation is not only healthy, but usually presents the immediate issues or problems to address first in an action plan.

Example:
The person I was training did not perform well enough.

Bad Leader:
“They suck and it’s their fault and I should reprimand them.”

Good Leader:
“They failed. Did I:
Train them enough?
Did I communicate well enough?
Did I provide guidance?
Was I investing in them fully?
Did I give unrealistic expectations?
Could I have helped them more in ____?”

What have you seen happen when you are in either of these positions?

Yesterday, I had the privilege of serving as the guest speaker for the U.S. Navy League / U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps.

Opportunities like this remind me how important it is to invest in the next generation—especially this organization, because I once sat in those same seats.

I was 11 years old when I first dreamed of becoming a Navy SEAL. At 14, I crossed the quarterdeck of the McKeesport Naval Reserve Center in Pittsburgh, beginning a journey that would shape the rest of my life.

As a Sea Cadet, I met extraordinary men and women—including Medal of Honor recipients, Navy SEALs, Green Berets, and countless military leaders—who taught me that a meaningful life is built on something greater than yourself. They modeled honor, discipline, resilience, teamwork, humility, and service.

Yesterday, I was invited to pass those lessons on.

I shared stories from my journey into the Navy and my years as a Navy SEAL, but more importantly, I spoke about the person those experiences shaped me to become.

I told them that success isn’t measured by rank or achievements. It’s measured by the character you build, the relationships you cultivate, and the values you choose to live by.

I challenged them to strive every day to be four things:

• A Leader
• A Warrior
• A Mentor
• A Friend

Those four pillars have become the foundation of my life, and I believe they can guide anyone toward a life of purpose, service, and significance.

I left them with one final thought:

Your future isn’t built in one defining moment. It’s built through the small, consistent decisions you make every day. Invest in who you are becoming, because the person you become will always be more important than the title you eventually earn.

Thank you to the Sea Cadets and the Navy League for allowing me to come full circle. Twenty-four years ago, I was sitting where these young men and women are today. I can’t wait to see where their journey takes them.
