Hi! It’s been awhile since I’ve done an intro, and a LOT has happened since the last one. If you’re new around here, I’m Mel!! I thrive in any way I can express my creativity and I am my happiest when I can make a creative vision come to life. I’m also a drone pilot, a twin, and when I’m not working, I love spending time with my family on the water.

I started my biz when I moved to OBX in 2018. I remember just hitting the ground running and pouring my heart and soul into Whitecaps. I met my husband at the first wedding I filmed after becoming an LLC. He’s been supporting and growing with me through it all. I moved back to Virginia Beach in 2020 where Justin and I would transition from being long distance to living together during COVID. We got married in 2023 and then had a honeymoon baby!! My little fam is now my “why” behind all that I do, and I hope my daughter can be apart of this business I love so much one day.

Growing my family has taught me how to slow down, and really focus on quality over quantity. Building a team years prior to these events has helped me to have a great work life balance, not getting too burnt out in any of the responsibilities I enjoy. Also being able to buy back time is something I would encourage anyone to do! I am happy to know that I’ve helped others grow a team as well. It helps everyone be their best selves!

With that and the desire to grow our family even moreeee, I decided to limit the amount of weekends I spend away from my baby. So if you are interested in booking with me specifically, I encourage you to reach out sooner rather than later! I’m very confident in my whole team though, my thorough training (that I really need to share with other rising videographers one day), in the experience they give, and each of their unique talents! I know I’m biased, so if you want to see for yourself, just look at our reviews 🙌🏼

Last but not least, I recently found a great opportunity with and get to create content for them while learning to make the best financial decisions for my future. I will share biz owner/fam related tips here occasionally 🙂

Happy Birthday to Honor! I still can’t believe you are a FIANCÉ!! 💍 Man has life been so fun since I met you, from our adventures before whitecaps, to later working weddings and immediately becoming our designated hype girl, to meeting and creating mems with the love of your life, to being next in the whitecaps girl gang to walk down the aisle 🥹

I know I speak for the whole team when I say we can’t wait to get you MARRIED! I hope this year and next chapter is everything you dream it to be ✨

When you’re a wedding vendor and all your friends are engaged, it makes these years extra sweet 💍

The Bridal Pop In hosted by .events & at this past weekend did not disappoint! It was so much fun to be surrounded by familiar faces of both friends and “friendors” 🥰

Also I wish I knew about when I was planning our wedding. They absolutely rock 🤘🏼
