If you or someone you know is furloughed and in need of pet food, local rescues and non-profits are working to keep pets in their homes and out of shelters.
In addition to the pet pantries available in the link below, PETA will be giving out a free bag of dog food this Tuesday, November 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m at the Norfolk headquarters.
If you are in a position to donate, every organization I spoke to has said that the need is increasing daily. Consider donating a bag when you purchase food for your pet or set up a Subscribe and Save order from their Amazon wishlists and have food delivered monthly. Every little bit helps to keep beloved pets in their homes and out of shelters.
