Eric Marienthal is a multi-award Grammy winning saxophonist in the jazz and pop world. As a solo artist, he's released well over a dozen albums since the 1980's. In addition, you'll find him on releases by Chick Corea's Elektric Band, Big Phat Band, The Rippingtons, Brian Culbertson and David Benoit, just to name a few. Multi-award winning program director Ray White caught up with Eric, playing with the Special EFX All-Stars, and talked backstage about his early years in music, career highlights and his recent work including and album with Randy Brecker titled Double Dealin'. Always in high demand, Eric has been nominated for Grammy awards ten times throughout his career. Our friend Brent Carter, who just finished up a wonderful stint with Average White Band (whose band has retired) is now with The Commodores! Congratulations, Brent!!

After several decades as one of the lead singers of The Commodores, JD Nicholas has retired. We wish him well and we are very grateful for his tremendous contribution to the group for so many years.

Classic R&B veteran lead singer, Brent Carter, has joined the group retaining the original sound of the Commodores with his beautiful voice, and professional, respectful approach to the group's extensive hit song catalog.

Additionally, Cody and Colin Orange, the sensational sons of original founding Commodore Walter “Clyde Brickhouse” Orange, have embraced and excelled in larger roles in the group over the past couple years, and will continue bringing their unique talents and Commodore's legacy to the stage. Together with Brent, the songs with the full harmonies are better than ever.

Original founding Commodores band leader William "I can play any instrument" King will continue into year 57 performing and overseeing the quality both on the road and in the studio.

Roberta Flack has died at 88. The Grammy-winning singer and pianist was known for her intimate vocal and musical style on “Killing Me Softly With His Song,” “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” and other hits.
