Chinese e-commerce billionaire Richard Liu has said he wants to make and sell luxury “yachts” at a fraction of the price of the average car with his new brand Sea Expandary, in which he’s personally invested almost $700 million.

He told reporters he wants to use Sea Expandary to make yachts "affordable for ordinary salaried workers and everyday consumers," citing a goal of selling eco-friendly vessels for 100,000 yuan, or $14,469.
