Neely Media May 2026 Newsletter | VB Community Listening Series

On May 21, Neely Media helped bring residents, business owners, city staff, and local leaders together at Esoteric Restaurant for a community listening meeting focused on safety concerns at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

The discussion included recent shootings, social media-driven pop-up gatherings, curfews, enforcement, Atlantic Avenue improvements, and the need for long-term solutions. City Council Member Worth Remick, who represents District 6, joined the conversation alongside Al Neely, Virginia Beach Resort Management Administrator Bill Kelly, Mark Stevens, and Virginia Beach Police Captain James Gordon.

As Al Neely shared, “We wanted to reach out to the community and to talk about recent events.”

Neely Media Presents: Studio Bamboo Institute of Yoga in Virginia Beach, VA

Strength. Balance. Growth.

More than a slogan — it’s a way of life at Studio Bamboo Institute of Yoga, located on Lynnhaven Drive in Virginia Beach.

Founded in 2009 by Ann Stevens, the studio was born from her personal transformation through yoga. Although she initially resisted the practice as a dancer, Stevens discovered that yoga helped her navigate life’s changes and embrace longevity with grace.

Inspired by the resilience of bamboo, the studio has grown into a thriving wellness community with 25 instructors and co-owner Natalie Peterson, a former competitive figure skater who now helps shape the studio’s teacher training program.

Studio Bamboo offers in-person and online classes, flexible memberships, and welcomes walk-ins. The studio also works with Wounded Warrior and Milly In Motion, reinforcing its commitment to community impact.

A space built on resilience — on and off the mat.
