Book Launch tonight at Three Rivers House - 724 Main St in La Crosse at 7 pm. The latest release from ramshacklepress - written by Ho-Chunk author Kunu, a fictional account of an urban Indian’s path toward learning the tradional way of the Lakota through vision quest and participation at Wounded Knee, The Longest Walk, and Sun Dance.

We had a visit today at the bookstore from a St. Paul Montessori high school 80/11 graders help move about 150 boxes across the street. They each got a couple free books. It was pretty cool.

Please join us to celebrate the release of Greg Brown’s Ring Around the Moon: A Songbook. The collection of writings, drawings, and photographs accompany the lyrics and sheet music to many of Greg’s classic songs.

His seasoned songwriting, storytelling, and music are deeply rooted in the place he was born in rural Iowa. For many years he moved audiences with warmth, humor, a thundering voice and his unpretentious musical vision.

Four book events will feature Greg reading from the book, telling stories, taking questions from the audience and playing a couple songs.

April 26 – Driftless Books - Viroqua, WI
April 27 – Minnesota Marine Art Museum - Winona, MN – SOLD OUT
May 2 – Electric Fetus - Minneapolis, MN
May 3 – Prairie Lights Bookstore - Iowa City, IA

The book’s official release is on April 30th through Ramshackle Press.
