Met up with on probably one of the windiest days of the year (see more on jettygirlsurfmag.com), but the silver lining is that the entire beach was basically deserted. She dives, does brutal open ocean paddles, and is quite simply one of the best young surfers I’ve ever seen, but what warmed my heart the most is that despite the ugly conditions out there, she just suited up, threw some wax on her board, and charged it. We all want perfect waves, of course, but I’ll always be a big fan of the go-out-no-matter what approach. 🌊 •
