💚 LADIES, LET’S TALK ABOUT TESTOSTERONE! 💚
Did you know that women naturally produce testosterone too? It plays a role in our overall health, but here’s something that isn’t talked about nearly enough…
⚠️ TOO MUCH TESTOSTERONE CAN CAUSE CHANGES TO A WOMAN’S BODY THAT MAY BE PERMANENT!
Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) can be beneficial for appropriately selected women, but when it comes to testosterone, MORE IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER!
Let’s talk about what can happen when testosterone levels become too high.
❌ Cl****al Enlargement (Clitoromegaly) – Excessive testosterone exposure can cause the cl****is to enlarge significantly. In some cases, this change may be irreversible.
❌ Deepening of the Voice – Your voice can become noticeably deeper, and this change may be permanent even after discontinuing testosterone.
❌ Facial Hair Growth – Increased hair growth on the chin, upper lip, chest, and other areas.
❌ Hair Thinning or Baldness – Elevated testosterone can contribute to male-pattern hair loss in women.
❌ Acne & Oily Skin – Higher androgen levels can cause breakouts and changes in skin texture.
❌ Menstrual Changes – Women who still have menstrual cycles may experience irregular or absent periods.
❌ Mood Changes – Some women may experience irritability or other changes in mood.
💚 NOW, DOES THIS MEAN TESTOSTERONE IS BAD FOR WOMEN? ABSOLUTELY NOT!
Testosterone is a naturally occurring hormone in women. When prescribed for an appropriate medical indication and carefully monitored, testosterone therapy may offer benefits.
But here’s what we want every woman to understand:
The goal of hormone therapy should NEVER be to push your testosterone levels as high as possible.
Higher numbers do not automatically mean better results!
At The Med Spa, we believe in education, individualized care, and patient safety.
Our hormone specialist, Senah Taylor, works closely with our physician to evaluate your symptoms, review your medical history and appropriate laboratory testing, and help determine whether hormone therapy may be right for you.
Our physician guides treatment decisions and prescribes medications when medically appropriate.
✨ Hormone therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Appropriate dosing, ongoing monitoring, and recognizing early signs of excessive testosterone exposure are important parts of responsible care.
We want women to feel informed, empowered, and confident about the decisions they make regarding their health.
