Anson Record

Anson Record Your destination for all things going on in Anson County, North Carolina. A.D. Way Jr. was the first editor of the paper.

For 135 years, The Anson Record and the Messenger and Intelligencer has served the people of Anson County as their primary source of news, as well as a guide to satisfy the community’s appetite for goods and services through advertising of local merchants. The Anson Record traces its heritage back to 1881, as the Messenger and Intelligencer, but the modern Anson Record was first published on Jan.

Six years later, venture capital firm Versa Capital Management merged Heartland with two other newspaper chains to form Civitas Media, which is headquartered in the Charlotte suburb of Davidson.
