Another Blue Tip Parade is in the books, and just like every year, it didn’t disappoint. The sound of marching bands, kids scrambling for candy, and familiar faces lining the streets made for more forever memories.

The rain didn’t hold off, but the skies opened up with a beautiful but faint rainbow to close it out. Nature’s way of putting a bow on another small-town summer tradition.

Money from the settlement will go to state and local governments, individuals and Native American tribes. Since 1999 there have been more than 850,000 opioid-related overdose deaths in the U.S., according to the CDC.

All eligible U.S. states and territories have agreed to sign a $7.4 billion settlement with the company and family behind OxyContin, officials announced Monday.

🎉 It’s Blue Tip time, Wadsworth! 🎉

The beloved Blue Tip Parade kicks off festival week TONIGHT! Join the community as the parade rolls out from the Wadsworth High School campus at 6:00 PM, heading down Broad Street and finishing up at Isham Elementary. Make sure to grab your spot early; it’s going to be a great evening!

🚧 Traffic Alert for Tonight:

🕔 At 5:00 PM, the Downtown Square will be closed to traffic—cars parked in front of businesses will need to move.

🕠 At 5:30 PM, Broad Street (Hartman Rd. to the square Downtown) and College Street (Square to Stratford Ave.) will be shut down for the parade route.

This long-standing Wadsworth tradition is a highlight of summer—and speaking of tradition…

👉 Fun Fact: The first person staked out their parade spot on June 8 this year. That might be the earliest ever! Now that’s dedication.
