Wadsworth High School Grizzlies senior Calix Lemp has committed to the United States Air Force Academy to play football for the Air Force Falcons. Lemp, a captain on the football team for the Wadsworth Grizzlies, had a total of 21 collegiate offers, including Harvard, Army, Dartmouth and many more Division 1 programs. “He is a very lead-by-example kind of guy,” said Justin Todd, the Grizzlies’ head football coach.

In honor of the 24th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, we went through the Bruin archives and found Megan Parker's opinion story about how the Sept.11 attacks affected U.S. citizens a year after the attacks. This piece was published in October 2002.
"Many students around the United States gathered by the small televisions in their classrooms and stared in shock as the towers billowed with smoke and fire and finally fell to the ground," Parker wrote, remembering what it was like for the students at Wadsworth High School on that day.

Wadsworth 5th and 6th graders have officially cut the ribbon and started the new school year at Wadsworth Intermediate School. Check out the picture slideshow to see inside the newly constructed WIS.

Wadsworth City Schools held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Aug. 14 to officially open the new intermediate building, now called Wadsworth Intermediate School or WIS. The ceremony started with Dr. Andrew Hill, Wadsworth City Schools superintendent, welcoming everyone in attendance to the new building.....

Another school year has come to a close and the Bruin staff would like to thank all our readers, patrons and advertisers for their continuous support.
This year, the Ohio Scholastic Media Association awarded our newspaper with a 1st place ranking and our news website with a 2nd place ranking. We are very proud of the work of all of our writers and we look forward to new stories we will cover when we return in August.

Wadsworth High School students in the Concerned About Teen Success, CATS, program participated in a three-hour-long rally in Columbus, OH, on May 2. This student-run program joined the rally to promote teens to make healthy decisions. “[The goal of the rally is] to show that the majority of youth are living drug-free lives,” Said Beth Rasey, the director of the CATS program for 17 years.
