Louis Tomlinson, formerly of One Direction, and The Beaches are coming to Jacobs Pavilion in Cleveland on July 20, and the Bruin is raffling off two general admission tickets. Tickets for the raffle will be sold during lunch on May 5 and 6. $1 = 1 entry, $10 = 12 entries. Cash Only. The winner will be announced on Friday, May 8, and the raffle is open to all WHS students. The Wadsworth High School Rock Band Club closed out the Fine Arts Assembly earlier today with their cover of "The End" and "Dead!" by My Chemical Romance. Join them tonight (May 1) at First Friday in downtown Wadsworth for their first full show. First set is 6:30-6:45pm. Second set is 7-7:15pm.

The Bruin has just been named the “All-Ohio” student news magazine for 2026 by the Ohio Scholastic Media Association during a banquet at Kent State University earlier tonight. The “All-Ohio” award is the highest distinction that a student newspaper can be awarded and is only given to publications that “exceed OSMA’s standards in substantially all areas.” This is the first time that the Bruin has earned this award for its printed news magazine publication.
The Bruin was also awarded “Gold” status for having one of the top student news websites in Ohio and earned 19 individual story and design awards for work Bruin staffers created this year.

Solomon Callaghan will become the second Wadsworth alumnus to play in March Madness, the NCAA's Men's D1 Basketball Tournament, today at 1:50 pm EST. Callaghan plays for the Wright State Raiders, who will face the Virginia Cavaliers.
“I’m honored,” Callaghan said about being the first, “I definitely want to make the city proud.”

Teachers on Tour is a social media series started by three Valley View teachers where they visit different ice cream shops to rate the ice cream, ambiance and environment.
“It started because on our professional development days, when we get an actual lunch break,” said Krista Jones, a second-grade teacher at Valley View Elementary School. “We started going to Skoops in Barberton for our lunch break… we thought that it was funny, and then we were saying… over the summer, ‘Oh let’s go for a ride in the fun mobile. Come and pick us up, Joy.’ Then we started saying we should go get ice cream at many places, so it just evolved from the lunchroom.”
