Today we shared the story of a difficult decision—we had to leave the MacVansion behind in Nova Scotia and make the crossing to Newfoundland by ferry without it. While that's not how we imagined this part of the journey, travel has a way of teaching flexibility, patience, and trust.

The good news? We're now in position for tomorrow's big adventure... heading out on a boat tour in search of Newfoundland's famous icebergs! 🧊🌊

These massive giants have traveled hundreds of miles from Greenland and the Arctic, and we're hoping to get up close to some incredible sights. We've been looking forward to this part of the trip for months, and tomorrow is finally the day.

Stay tuned—we're hoping to bring you some unforgettable footage from Iceberg Alley!

Have you ever had a trip take an unexpected turn that ended up becoming part of the adventure?

“We came all the way to Sydney NS to see puffins…
and instead we almost froze to death. 😄

Now the people up here keep saying things like…
‘Ohhh this? This isn’t cold.’

Sir… my face has stopped cooperating with the rest of my body.

Today we took a boat tour to see puffins.
And honestly? Those little birds are adorable.
Tiny wings… little waddles… out there living their best life in temperatures that should require government approval.

Meanwhile Gennie and I are standing on the boat looking like two Floridians who made a series of bad life decisions. 😂

We saw puffins, all kinds of beautiful seabirds, and some Canadian geese.
The guide said, ‘Y’all wanna take some geese home with you?’
We said, ‘No sir… America already has a franchise location.’ 😆

About halfway through the tour… the wind hit.
Not regular wind.
This was ‘rethink your entire future’ wind.

My hands went numb.
My ears disappeared.
I’m pretty sure one side of my head entered another time zone.

So we went shopping for gloves and a toboggan.

We checked several stores… nothing.
Apparently the locals are just born wearing thermal underwear and emotional toughness.

Finally we went into Walmart.

Not sporting goods.
Not camping.
THE SAFETY SECTION.

Because apparently what I needed wasn’t winter clothing…
it was OSHA-approved survival equipment. 😂

So if you see me wearing this bright beanie and industrial-strength gloves…
just know this:

We came to Nova Scotia for the puffins…
but we stayed because we couldn’t feel our hands enough to drive away.”

One little gadget… a LOT of uses. 📸🎥

We’ve been using the KraftGeek tripod/selfie stick on the road with the MacVansion, and it has become one of those “why didn’t we get this sooner?” travel tools.

✅ Bluetooth selfie stick
✅ Tripod for steady video shots
✅ Detachable remote so you can snap photos from across the room (or campsite!)
✅ Compact and easy to carry on adventures

If you’ve ever struggled trying to get both of you in the picture while traveling, this thing really helps.

We put together a quick feature video showing how it works. Link to our Amazon store will be in the first comment. 👇

Soooo, what do you do when you're locked out of your campground and can't get back in?

Today was one of those days that reminds you why we travel.

This morning we said goodbye to beautiful Prince Edward Island and headed toward one of the most iconic coastal spots in Canada… Peggy's Cove.
The crashing waves, rugged rocks, fishing boats, and lighthouse views felt like something straight out of a painting.

But by afternoon, the mood shifted as we visited the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and later walked through the solemn grounds of the Fairview Lawn Cemetery, where many victims of the Titanic disaster were laid to rest.

Standing there quietly reading the names and markers was a reminder that behind every historic tragedy are real people, real families, and real stories. Halifax became forever connected to the Titanic story when recovery ships brought many victims here after the sinking in 1912.

From breathtaking beauty… to deep reflection… today was a journey we won’t soon forget.

Sometimes travel isn’t just about seeing places.
It’s about feeling them.

Today’s Ramble Recap took us into the storybook beauty of Prince Edward Island. 🌸

We wandered through Green Gables where it truly feels like time slows down, explored scenic coastal roads, and visited several beautiful lighthouses standing watch over the shoreline. Spring is arriving here in full color, with flowers blooming everywhere we turn and fresh ocean air reminding us why we love this journey so much.

There’s just something peaceful about PEI… the fishing villages, the red cliffs, the quiet roads, and the simple beauty of spring along the coast.

Days like today remind us that sometimes the best adventures aren’t the busiest ones… they’re the ones that help you slow down enough to truly see the beauty around you.

Some Sundays on the road just stay with you a little longer.

This morning we worshiped with a small congregation near our campground here in Canada. There’s something special about walking into a church where you may not know a single person… and leaving feeling like family.

After church, we headed to Hopewell Rocks at low tide. Standing on the ocean floor beside those massive rock formations is hard to describe until you actually see it for yourself. Just hours later, the same place would be covered by the waters of the Bay of Fundy again. God’s creation never stops amazing us.

Then we continued our journey toward Prince Edward Island, taking in the beauty of the Maritime provinces one mile at a time.

Days like today remind us that this journey is about more than destinations. It’s about the people we meet, the quiet moments we experience, and the reminders that there is still so much beauty in this world. ❤️🇨🇦

Some places can be appreciated with a quick stop and a photo…

But not Hopewell Rocks.

Even the name itself feels fitting.

Hope.
Well.

A place that quietly reminds us that hope is something we draw from deeply… especially in seasons of waiting.

We arrived at the Bay of Fundy to witness the famous tides — and quickly realized this wasn’t something you could fully experience in a hurried “Ramble Quest” pace. Around here, the ocean doesn’t just change… it transforms.

At one moment, people are walking on the ocean floor beneath towering rock formations.
A few hours later, the same place is covered by water deep enough for kayaks to float overhead.

To truly witness it, you have to stay awhile.
Pause.
Wait.
Watch with expectation.

And maybe that’s part of the lesson.

We often want God to work on our schedule — quick answers, immediate direction, instant change. But some of His most powerful movements can only be seen by those willing to remain long enough to witness the tide turn.

“I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
and in His word I hope.”
— Psalm 130:5

The tide doesn’t rush because we’re impatient.
And neither does God.

But if we keep watching…
keep trusting…
and stay planted instead of running ahead…

eventually the water begins to move.

Then suddenly what looked still and unchanged becomes something breathtaking.

“He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.”
— Psalm 62:6

Somehow, standing among these massive rocks at Hopewell, waiting on waters we cannot control, that verse feels especially meaningful.

🇨🇦 Well… today started with a full inspection of the MacVansion at the Canadian border. 😄
Every cabinet opened, questions asked, and even a few curious looks at how two people can pack their lives into a van this size.

But after all of that… we officially rolled into Canada and made our way to one of the most incredible places we’ve ever seen — the famous Hopewell Rocks.

Standing here beside these massive rock formations shaped by the highest tides in the world is hard to describe. Just another reminder that God’s creation can leave you speechless when you least expect it.

One minute you’re at a border inspection…
the next you’re standing beside giant flowerpot rocks carved by the Bay of Fundy tides.

That’s life on the road.
Unexpected moments… unforgettable views… and stories we never saw coming. ❤️
