Wonderscope is seeking a part-time Production Assistant to support the Creative Director in backend producing work as well as on-set. The Production Assistant is an entry-level position that will report directly to Wonderscope's Creative Director, Natalie Wallace. The position will include some office work (5-10 hours/week) which will consist of -
- making phone calls to schedule talent, locations, crew
- writing emails to talent, crew, and client
- building call sheets
- preparing, managing, and organizing talent and location releases
- digitizing VHS and scanning old media for clients
The position will also include some work on set at remote locations which will consist of -
- prepping and pulling gear
- assisting the Gaff/Grip with lighting
- acquiring talent and location releases
- managing craft services
The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills first and foremost, with a positive attitude and overall good energy. Experience and interest in film and video production is secondary and preferred but not required. The ability to multitask, take direction and stay organized is a must. The position is part-time/freelance as it is project needs based with an average of 10-15 hours per week. Desired start date is July 22, 2019 (no later than July 26, 2019).
Qualifications / Minimum Requirements
Candidate will present strong written and verbal communication skills, a positive attitude, a self-starter work ethic with ability to wear multiple hats and be a trustworthy, respectful team player with a sense of humor. Candidate must be local to Harrisburg, PA. (This is not a remote job.)
• Bachelor’s degree and/or advanced degree in Film, Media, Communications, Advertising/Public Relations, Marketing, English or Business preferred but not required
• 1-3 years experience as administrative assistant (internship experience counts)
• 1-3 years experience in customer service based industry (food/retail/etc)
• 0-3 years experience in film or video production
• Proficiency in Mac OSX
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere, Photoshop, and Illustrator (preferred but not required)
• Ability to communicate effectively with a positive attitude
• Ability to hold their own and take direction in a fast-paced environment on set
• Outstanding team player and ability to wear multiple hats
• Compassionate and trustworthy personality skills required for sensitive subject matter
• Willingness to travel to shoots up to 100 miles from Harrisburg, PA
• Some early and late work flexibility required for shoot days
Job Type: Part-time/Freelance/Contract
Hours per week: 10-15
Start date as soon as July 22, 2019 (no later than July 26, 2019)
