I did online renewal for mine on July 10. It came in the mail yesterday, July 17. This is lightning fast.

Parks and Palms Travel Co. 🌴

I went back-and-forth between Parks and Palms or Palms and Parks. I ultimately decided that it flowed better with parks first. But look at that. I went to change my page name and I reversed it. Now I'm stuck with it like this for 60 days. Bear with me here as I launch 🤣

The real inspiration behind the name? My dad. I lost him last fall and my life is forever changed. It was a really tough and long year. From him, I got my love of travel. We weren't cold-weather people. We went where the sun was. The Caribbean, lots of cruises. A timeshare at Disney World. My childhood was just so fun and I owe everything to him.

From him, I also got my work ethic. My dad came from absolutely nothing, put himself through school, took care of his family and became something so incredible. He really lived the American Dream. A man whose advice was sought after. Someone who was the voice of reason and loved by just so many people. The first phone call I made every day.

My dad loved palm trees. He told us that we need to be like palm trees because they don't break, they bend. They sway in the wind. When times get tough, he always told us to be a palm tree. And he loved taking me to Disney.

So, here you have it. A complete labor of love, dedicated to my father, Salvatore Scuderi. Parks and Palms Travel Co. He was so impressed by everything I did, he loved it when I would FaceTime him from resort tours or cruise ships. But he thought that I really needed to slow down a bit. So now I am. I'm slowing down, doing it on my terms and I know I'm making him proud.

I can't lie - this one made me weep a bit after a few bites. Face down on the kitchen table, strange sounds emitting.

Cheese and spinach tortellini with broccoli rabe and crispy prosciutto. 8 cloves of garlic sliced on the mandolin that just melted in. A bit of pasta water and a combo of parm and pecorino.

I'm a simple girl, really.

Dear Commonwealth of Massachusetts,

Look, I've got to commend you on your work recently. You're doing a great job. Everyone loves you.

Just a small bone to pick. The weather. Can we pick a lane? One day it's 68 and sunny. The next day it's freezing and raining. My heat goes on, my heat turns off. You're making all of us crazy.

We are channeling summer. We are ready for lobster rolls, the beach, Sam Summer, and smiles.
