THIS WEEK’S MHS Athlete of the Week has wrapped up a great high school athletic career by becoming a three time All Star for the MHS softball team. This spring Ava Viola led Melrose in hitting with a .300 batting average and a .364 on base percentage, wrapping up a fantastic softball career at Melrose High. She also was a key part of the MHS field hockey team, who made playoffs for the first time in 20 years this past fall. Congrats to Ava and the entire team for a memorable season. THIS WEEK’S Melrose High Athletes of the Week left it all on the track at the Div. 4 State Finals and also at last weekend’s Tournament of Champions for the MHS track team. Melrose High sophomore Reilly Powell became state champion in the 2 mile and Emme Boyer became a Div. 4 state and All State silver medalist in shot put, for a personal total of four, top 3 medals in two weeks. Congrats to these athletes on their fantastic spring season!
