THE NRHS girls’ cross country team made it to the All State Meet of Champions for the first time since 2007. Pictured with their coaches are Hornets Quinlan Kelly (53rd, 20:56), Adelyn Kelly (59th, 21:07), Riley MacDonald (110th, 22:13), Verity Modeen (163rd, 24:04) and Ruby Davidson (177th, 25:05).

Garden Club seeks entrants in K-12 youth poetry contest...

📸 PAIGE LEAHY was awarded three certificates for her winning poem entitled “Growing and Giving” by North Reading Garden Club Youth Chairperson Charlene Malek. Currently a third-grader at the E. Ethel Little School, Paige placed first at both the state and New England Regional level, and second at the national level among second graders last year. (Courtesy Photo)

HORNET OF THE WEEK goes to...DAVI LEAO, Boys’ Soccer Senior Captain. Leao scored the game-winning goal in double overtime of NR’s 2-1 win over Dedham in the first round of the Div. 3 state tournament on Nov. 5.
