Waldport is a small community on the Oregon Coast. We’re pretty independent. Tough but compassionate. Many of us have come from somewhere else. And while we are all so similar, we often focus on our differences. We have those who resist change, and those who demand it and make it happen. Change is inevitable in any case.
There is a page which serves as the defacto local media as well as the primary means of communication in the area. Everybody reads it. In actuality, the page is not an open community forum, but a personal page. A handful of local residents wield power of censorship and control all dialog. When I found myself censored and objected, I was advised to create my own page. Here it is.
Our conceptions of news and media, communication, and the idea of truth and accuracy are being challenged. Not in just my community, but in yours. In our county. In our world. As citizens, we must rise to meet the challenge to find truth. This page is dedicated to discerning truth and sharing perspective. I’m looking for common ground. Help me find it.
