The flower show and Huckleberry Battle are ready for you! We were at the fairgrounds until 930 last night decorating and guess what? For the first time in 12 years I upgraded our tablecloths. I’ve always loved the vintage fabric I’ve used over the years but I got a crazy idea to make it into a 1960s cape and the fabric is literally perfect for it… makes me laugh. I found these antique chairs up in the storage at the fairgrounds and decided to put them to use again. I wish I could’ve steamed the fabric, but there just wasn’t time. I can’t wait to show pictures of our prize baskets and ribbons. I will do that tomorrow. As for today, I gotta get the magazine done and I am one tired Chica! Thank you to everyone who participates in the fair. I truly try to make my corner magical for you.

One of the people who believed in me the most when I started my magazine was Adina. She was a marketing director at that time and signed onto to be my biggest sponsor for many years. A few times, she personally told me how much she believed in the magazine, and I cannot tell you what it means to have women in your life who are strong and uplift others. And now I get to work with her daughter at Bennett Lumber! And of course SEL is also an incredible advertiser.

A lot of people know her in a lot of different ways and I’m just glad that my story involves a woman who uplifted another at a time where it mattered the most. She is so deserving! She is beautiful, down to earth, kind, and somehow still humble! Sometimes my posts don’t get any traction, but I hope this one does so she can see how loved she is.

You know what we all need more of? Getting out of the house and meeting new people. There’s going to be a huge FREE community potluck and you’re totally invited. Happy Friday to you all! This just arrived and I’m getting the car loaded and your favorite dream team will be hitting the road to deliver to the quad cities for you in the next few days. I hope you love our vintage cover! We’ve got a new writer, new advertisers, special content, and I just tried to be creative as possible. I always try to do the best I can to lift up your spirits as much as possible, especially the last few years. And I know my entire team does as well. I have a feeling people are gonna go crazy over the huckleberry battle recipes even though I don’t feel like my photos looked that great. I’ll be sharing the ad for that soon. I hope everyone stays safe, does their best and above all know, I’m always rooting for you.

Sometimes when I share a video, it doesn’t show it to anybody, but I really hope somebody sees this. I love the Rotary club. I always think about joining. It’s super affordable to donate to this. Our dogs deserve better! I hope you donate to this and more importantly I hope you share this!
