🇧🇷 Chegou a hora de conhecer as pessoas por trás da Owlery! Hoje conheceremos a nossa membro mais recente, .

Inã Omokun é Artista Visual, fotógrafa e produtora. Desde cedo na música, participou de festivais e apaixonou-se pelo audiovisual na Universidade Federal do Oeste da Bahia, onde estudou.

Conduz sua escrita e semiótica através da afro diáspora e narrativas transversais de gênero e sociedade. Seu primeiro curta experimental foi classificado para a Mostra Itinerante de Cinemas Negros - Mahomed Bamba (MIMB), um dos mais importantes festivais de cinema Afrodiaspórico do Brasil.

Escritora pelo amor à composições musicais, participou da Antologia Poética chamada Bardos Baianos e coleciona exposições fotográficas, uma delas na Revista Trama, da casa Bodoque, em Minas Gerais, revista na qual diversas organizações e artistas relacionadas aos direitos humanos publicam, inclusive a própria ONU Brasil.

Inã Omokun is a Visual Artist, Photographer and Producer. Since early in life she was part of Music Festivals and fell in love with Filmmaking at the Federal University from the West of Bahia, where she studied.

Inã conducts her writing and semiotics through afro diaspora and transversal narratives of gender and society. Her first experimental short was selected for the Itinerant Festival of Black Cinema - Mahomed Bamba (MIMB), one of the most important Afro Diasporic Film Festivals in Brazil.

Writer because of her love for musical composition, she was part of a Poetic Anthology called Bardos Baianos and collects photographic exhibitions, one of them on Trama Magazine, from house Bodoque, in Minas Gerais, in which several organisations and artists related to Human Rights publish, including ONU Brasil itself.

🇧🇷 Chegou a hora de conhecer as pessoas por trás da Owlery! Hoje apresentamos nossa co-fundadora, Priscila Vailones.

Priscila é uma cineasta independente sediada em Londres. Ela é originária do Brasil, mas passou parte de sua adolescência entre a Espanha e seu país. Em 2015, ela se mudou para Londres para seguir uma carreira no cinema e freqüentou a Raindance Film School, onde se apaixonou por Produção e Direção. Além de trabalhar como Produtora e Diretora, ela também tem créditos como Diretora de Arte em vários curtas-metragens.

Seu filme mais recente como diretora e produtora é Janus, que foi exibido no Raindance Film Festival, Golden Bridge İstanbul Short Film Festival, Lit Scares International Horror Festival, Iconic Images Film Festivale Indie-Clips Short Film Festival, entre outros.

Os filmes de Priscila exploram temas sociais tais como violência doméstica, trabalho s*xual, ab**to, direitos civis e humanos e ativismo político. Como co-fundadora de Owlery, Priscila também está envolvida na construção de comunidades através de parcerias em vídeo, capacitando jovens e comunidades a contar suas próprias histórias.

🇬🇧 It's time to meet the people behind Owlery! Today we'll introduce our co-founder, Priscila Vailones.

Priscila is an independent filmmaker based in London. She is originally from Brazil but spent part of her teens between Spain and her country. In 2015, she moved to London to pursue a career in film and attended the Raindance Film School, where she fell in love with Producing and Directing. As well as working as a Producer and Director, she has also credits as Art Director on several shorts films.

Her most recent film as director and producer is Janus, which has screened at the Raindance Film Festival, Golden Bridge İstanbul Short Film Festival, Lit Scares International Horror Festival, Iconic Images Film Festival and Indie-Clips Short Film Festival, among other venues.

Priscila’s films explore social themes such as domestic violence, s*x work, abortion, civil and human rights and political activism. As the co-founder of Owlery, Priscila is also engaged with building communities through video partnerships, empowering youth and communities to tell their own stories.

Atriz e cineasta apaixonada por dar vida a histórias
interessantes. O que a faz mais feliz é estar em um set de filmagem, não importa se é uma pequena produção independente de baixo orçamento ou um grande sucesso de bilheteria internacional.

Estudou em instituições renomadas como a Royal
Academy of Dramatic Arts, Raindance Film School e
Workshop do Ator Anthony Meindl.

Fez parte do elenco principal e da equipe de vários curtas-metragens, sendo o mais notável O Dia Seguinte, que protagonizou, escreveu e produziu e que está circulando em festivais internacionais em 2022. Trabalhou como figurante em grandes projetos como Animais Fantásticos, Jogador Número 1 e Mulher Maravilha 1984. Hoje também trabalha no Senado Federal como Designer.

🇬🇧 I'ts time to meet the people behind Owlery! Let's start with , our founder.

She is an actress and filmmaker with a passion for bringing interesting stories to life. She is the happiest when she is on a film set, no matter if it’s a small independent low-budget production or a massive international blockbuster.

She studied at renowned institutions such as the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, Raindance Film School and Anthony Meindl Actor's Workshop.

Marianna was part of the main cast and crew of several short films, the most notable being The Aftermath, which she starred in, wrote and produced and which is circulating international festivals in 2022. She worked as an SA in major projects such as Fantastic Beasts, Ready Player 1 and Wonder Woman 1984. Nowadays she also works at the Brazilian Senate as a Designer.

🇬🇧 We offer people on different career paths and levels opportunities to participate on our productions, always having diversity and inclusion in mind since we know the film industry is unfair and it can be hard to build a portfolio when you’re just starting out or because of your gender, race, s*xual orientation, nationality or other factors.

🇬🇧 How do you deal with criticism? At Owlery, getting feedback is one of the most important steps in the process of making a film. It might be hard to deal with getting a negative comment, but quality feedback makes your project stronger and amplifies your point of view. Not taking it personally and filtering and applying what makes sense is a skill that helps make your film better.

🇧🇷 Como você lida com críticas? Na Owlery, receber feedback é um dos passos mais importantes quando se faz um filme. Pode ser difícil lidar com comentários negativos, mas feedbacks de qualidade deixam o seu projeto mais forte e amplificam o seu ponto de vista. Não levar pro lado pessoal, filtrar e aplicar o que faz sentido é uma habilidade que ajuda a fazer o seu filme melhor.
